I'm not really happy with blogger right now as it's not allowing me to upload any photos. It started this garbage yesterday.
So here's the Sydney update:
He was due for his yearly physical and everything is really good. However, the sad new is that his arthritis has really set in. She said that it's not uncommon for large breed dogs to have mild arthritis for awhile. But what happens is it just builds up and becomes extremely painful for them. Hence, the reason he's having a hard time walking and isn't moving much. His knees are fine but his hip joints she noticed were extremely sensitive to touch. The dog did nearly give me a heart attack this morning. When I got out of bed I went to go see where he was as I'm watching him like a hawk. He was laying on the other side of the bed on the floor. I went to pet him and he was ice cold and I could not feel or hear him breathing. I'm sure you can figure out what I thought had happened. But I moved him a little bit, he moved his head and I had a huge relief sweep over my body. So he's on something called Glyco-Flex (Glucosamine for dogs) and on Rimadyl (arthritis medicine for dogs). Hopefully he'll get better and be back to his silly self. If the Rimadyl doesn't work, then we'll have to go for X-Rays. Today's visit to the vet was $250 which was almost double what we normally spend but that also included the Glyco-Flex ($50 for a 3 month supply) and the $60 for blood work. I think he's worth it though. He is now sleeping from the normal yearly vaccinations he gets.
And what I forgot...my 13 month LIDversary. I didn't even think twice about it on Sunday. It was 2 days later that I realized that it had passed without a thought. We're working on getting our homestudy updated so that we can head to Memphis to get refingerprinted for our I-171H. Hopefully it will all get done before the current I-171H expires in March. I know we're pushing it and should've done it last month but December is a horrible time of year to deal with it. Time to also renew our passports as they expire in March too!! It all seems to be happening at once.

Welcome to my world, Max gets Rimadyl and Glucosamine every day for his hips and knees. It had made a world of difference. Hopefully Syd will be feeling better soon. Rimadyl is really good for Max.
I hope your guy's arthritis is soon under control and he is spryly table-begging again.
Good for you on 13 months you won't have to do again.
I am glad it's nothing to serious. Hopefully he will soon be feeling better.
Good ole March, that is one busy month.
Sorry to hear your pooch is not feeling well. We have a 14 year old black lab/chow who is experiencing very similar things. It makes your heart ache, no? Also, our dog has some canine dementia too - who knew there was such a thing? Anyway, we are struggling with when to say when. Sigh. Nonetheless, here's to a boost of good health for Sydney!
Happy 13th, girl!
And my parent's dog went through all that too, poor fellow. But he did really well on that medicine for a long time!
