Wow! I can't believe 2008 is upon us. I also can't believe that I didn't blog for almost 2 weeks! It was pretty busy around here so that's my excuse.
While watching the ball drop in Times Square on my TV screen it was mentioned that the ticker tape that was dropped contained peoples wishes for 2008. I thought that was a cool idea and then made my own wish for 2008. I'm sure most of you can guess what that was - to become a mom again. I need to lose weight too but I just can't make New Year's resolutions anymore. I don't keep them so I just vow to do my best.
Christmas at our house was really nice and quiet. My parents came a few days ago and stayed until this morning. I had not seen my dad since August and it was really nice to see him. It was good to see my mom too even though I saw her in September but it still had been over 3 months! Hopefully we'll get together with them again soon. As usual they brought us really nice Christmas gifts and I finally got my Rachael Ray saute pan and my new KitchenAid toaster oven. Ours was on its last leg after 7 yrs of ownership (and not looking too pretty either). And Eriks as always says "I don't want you to leave" to my parents and it makes my mom cry. He loves them so much and when I see how it is for him when he's with them, I know that moving to Indiana after the Air Force is definitely the right thing to do. Plus my extended family and my friends are there.
Other than that not much new here. Just trying to wind down the holidays. The tree is still up and who knows when we'll take it down. It usually stays up until after Epiphany although we take down a bunch of the other decorations a few days earlier. The outside lights are still up too. I think we're one of the last houses in the neighborhood to take them down. Unfortunately it will have to wait a few more days until the weather becomes fairly pleasant. It's windy as heck outside right now and cold.
Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Hopefully a lot of us will become parents this year.
