AAAAHHHH!!!!!!

Why??? Why is it impossible to get doctors appointments??? I'm almost 99.9% certain I have bronchitis. I've had it before and once it even turned into pneumonia. So I called the clinic on base today to see if they had an appointment available. I'm tired of coughing and wheezing and feeling stuff rattling in my lungs! So back to the clinic - nope, not a single appointment available. To this day after living here for almost 2 1/2 yrs I have never gotten a same day appointment. So they tell me to call the Medical Clinic down the road. Called them, the appointment person was not so nice either. She asked if I had a doctor there. The answer was no. Explained that I couldn't get an appointment on base and they told me to call there. Well no appointments for new patients. Call the clinic back and ask for a call back from the nurse. After explaining my medical history of heart issues and the fact that I've had bronchitis and pneumonia in the past she says that I definitely need to see a doctor. There's a walk-in clinic about 20 miles up the road. Can't go today because I don't have hours to sit around waiting to be seen with a 4 yr old that does not understand the words, "sit still". I'd go out of my mind. She actually said that it would be better if I went up in the AM anyhow as there will probably be less of a wait.

This is so frustrating. I have to say that overall, I have a very good insurance company. However, I live in hell and we are so limited as to where we can go because the state is so poor that they can't afford urgent care clinics, etc. This is actually the first place in my entire almost 12 yrs as a military wife where I have had these issues. I've always gotten appointments or had urgent care clinics we could go to and have insurance pay it. No wonder the ER's around here are crowded. There's no where else for people to go!

So that's my rant for the week.

We're freezing again here and they keep going back and forth as to whether or not we're going to get "winter" weather tomorrow. Yesterday it was 75 degrees and then the cold front and some serious winds blew through and the temps dropped very quickly. Got home from picking up Eriks from school and it was 75. About 45 minutes later the temperature was 55. Lots of houses around here have lost shingles. Downed powerlines, downed trees. Almost ran over a huge tree limb yesterday as it was hard to see in the road. Hope no one else had to deal with crappy or wild weather.

I know how you feel. Our weather is just as crazy. Fifty degrees in the afternoon then we go out to dinner and leave the restaurant and it is eighteen degrees. What the heck happened. Ice everywhere and the wind. I could hardly get the door opened, frozen solid.

I really hope you feel better. Jeff gets bronchitis every year and I feel for you.
