They made it!!!
I followed their flight to Tokyo until about 1 am ATL time. I
don't sleep when Lane isn't here and was trying to keep myself entertained. Then this morning I woke up and started tracking the leg from Tokyo to Beijing. They landed just after 10:00 pm Beijing time. The health officials came on the plane scanned everyone and were released. They met the CHI coordinator and got to the hotel. I was online talking to another friend when I got an instant message from Lane that said,
"Hi Honey!"
Typed a few things to him and then ran downstairs to log into Sky.pe. We own M.A.C.s and use the equivalent to A.I.M. called i.Chat. We weren't sure if this would be filtered or not so we set up the Sky.pe accounts. Eriks was thrilled to see his dad. We talked for about 5 minutes as it was almost 12:30 am in Beijing. We'll talk to them again this evening (morning there) after they get up & have breakfast. I figure we'll talk to them about every 12 hrs if time allows. They say it's pretty cool thus far. They're skipping the optional day of sightseeing and are likely going to
wander on their own. I think they're going to see the Temple.of.Heaven and then hit the Pearl Market across the street (thanks for the tip Kim R.). They might head over to the Bird's Nest.
Saturday is the group sightseeing of the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Sq., and the Great Wall. I think there's dinner and then orientation. I'd have to go look at the schedule again.
Hopefully Lane will start sending me photos of their journey. I'm just so thankful that everyone in the travel group made is safe without any quarantines! Can't wait to start seeing those kiddos, especially my own. All of the families (20 of us) in our travel group found their children on the Waiting Children's list. I am so thrilled for all of us and everything we've gone through to get to this point. We are so blessed to have been given the chance to become parents to these wonderful children.
Peace.

Liene,
Hi hun! I did not realize that you were staying home. How neat to have Skype to communicate with Lane. I am so excited and can't wait until your sweetheart is home with you. Can't wait to read more. :)
Love,
