At last, Emi is with her daddy. The 1st day was a little rough. Not too bad. Not only was her little world turned upside down but Gotcha Day just royally messed up her schedule/routine!! It doesn't help that my little girl is teething either!
Lane only had to wait a few minutes after arrival to meet Emilija. She came walking in holding onto the fingers of the nannies. She almost immediately began to cry when Lane took her in his arms. After a few minutes of comforting her and trying to give her a few things, they whipped out the cereal puffs and that worked like a charm. The time that Lane met Emilija was both passed lunchtime and naptime. I'd be pretty unhappy too.

Lane and mom got her back to the room and then called me to let me know they were back. I got to see Emi for the 1st time a bit after 12:30 am. She was OK for the 1st couple of minutes but then she started to cry again. Complete and utter exhaustion had definitely set in. So I talked for a few minutes while Lane and Mom tried to calm her and get her to fall asleep. But I let them go so they could take care of her. They fed her and she went to sleep for 3 hrs! They had to wake her up.

Tomorrow is official adoption day. They leave the hotel at 8:30 to head to the Civil Affairs office. Lane was getting the gifts ready while I was chatting with him online and said that he could not find one of the gifts for one of the government officials anywhere. Well, we've come to the conclusion that a baggage handler must have taken it. It was a t-shirt of a local sports team. He had it in Beijing but was "lost" somewhere between Beijing and Changhsa. We had to do a little bit of shuffling which did not make me happy. Never in my life have I ever had anything taken from my suitcases. Guess there's always a 1st.
Hope you enjoyed the Emi goodness in these photos. I'm so ready for next Thursday. It won't come fast enough!

Congratulations!!! God is so great! She is beautiful! It brings back such sweet memories. I too recognized the room/chairs. I wonder if the Civil Affairs office runs the AC; they sure didn't run the heater when we were there in February '03.
Thank you for allowing us to follow this wonderful journey!
Blessings,
