It's Official!

Everything went smoothly at the Civil Affairs office yesterday with the official adoption. Emilija is legally ours according to the Chinese gov't. I still am pinching myself.

Yesterday also went more smoothly than Gotcha Day. She loves her daddy! Every time we are chatting via webcam, he starts talking and she looks up at him. It's too cute! She's eating more and she's enjoying walking holding on to Lane's finger. Before we know it she's really going to be cruising. She's also starting to pick up food herself and put it in her mouth. It was very obvious to Lane and Mom that at the SWI EVERYTHING is done for the babies. I'm sure some of this has to do with the schedule that they have them on and it needs to be done to keep things on time. But now she's doing stuff on her own. She learned how to bang a spoon on the table today and enjoyed entertaining herself that way!

I don't know how many total families there were at the Civil Affairs office because Lane said it was multiple families from multiple agencies adopting at that time.

After lunch & Emi's nap they ventured out to do some shopping. They bought her some more snacks (things that were easier to pick up), things to drink for Mom & Lane and diapers.
The place that they went to is in the photo below. The name is too funny. Emi did well riding in the cart.

They are all sleeping now. Their day starts at 9 am. They will be heading to a kindergarten and not sure what else. I know that the afternoon is free.

That's it for now. We'll see what tomorrow (today for them) brings! On Friday they fly to GZ to finish the last leg of the adoption journey. I'm definitely anxious to have them home.
