I'm not going to say much other than I'm not very optimistic at this point that Lane and my mom will be leaving on June 4th as planned to get Emilija due to this flu "pandemic". Yes people are getting sick. Yes people are dying - mostly in Mex.ico where the health care is not the same as it it here. Granted I do understand a 23 month old child died here in TX. People die from the flu all the time. We just don't hear about it.
From what I read recently the C.C.A.A. is talking about putting travel on hold for 3-5 months! I don't want to wait that long to bring my baby girl home. She needs to come home now so that she can start receiving treatment not sitting in an orphanage.
We'll see what happens.

Read the CCAA letter posted on RQ... directly FROM the CCAA. It only states they are ADDING two months TO your TA- so that should you decide to delay travel, you have approval EXTENDED... at least that's how I interpret it, and it's asking agencies to COUNSEL families on the flu and to report to a hospital in China immediately if you feel sick.
It sounds like good news so far.
There is a link on RQ to read the letter from the CCAA.
So don't panic yet~!
{{{{{{{{{{Hugs}}}}}}}}} Sad right along with you.
Indeed, it is clear as mud right now. I hope some good clarity comes soon.
I'll be praying this flu doesn't delay things for you. This whole thing has gotten out of control and the media is hyping it. Keep us posted. The Lord has a plan for you guys!
I hope it does not come to this. Not to downplay the death of the child in TX, but he was a Mexican citizen brought here to get treatment...it was just too late due to the medical care he got in Mexico. I pray that nothing slows you down from getting your new daughter!
I thought about you as soon as I started hearing the news about the swine flu. I think you are going to be ok though. I think they are just giving some precautions and not delaying anything. Fingers crossed!
