Here's the update from our agency:
China is not stopping travel. They are still issuing travel approvals however they are stating that families should be cautious. If you choose to hold off on your travel that's fine too.
China is not going to allow families to visit the orphanages where their children have lived to protect the children living in those facilities. This makes me a little sad because I would really have loved Lane to go and see where our daughter has spent her entire life thus far. But it's OK.
I really didn't mean to overreact in my last post. Honestly, I wasn't really thinking that Lane and my mom wouldn't go. But there's always a part of you that freaks out. I finally came to the realization that those who have gotten sick either live in Me.xico or have recently traveled there. The number of cases is leveling off and it isn't the pandemic that the media is trying to hype it to be. I guess they've gotten so tired of talking about the economy around the world that this has injected some excitement into their jobs. This is why I'm not a fan of the media.

Hoping for no travel delays... the flu is not a severe strain, but take precautions. Soon you will have your new daughter.

Sorry that Lane will likely not get to visit the orphanage, but in the great scheme of things I guess it is a small compromise if it means the rest of the travel plans are intact.
Keeping you all in my thoughts that things go smoothly.
Yay! I just did a back flip. Ok not really, but I one in my mind. :D
Here's to a speedy TA!
Not sure where the orphanage is compared to the pickup city, but sometimes it is a long trip for child and parent to make. Some orphanages don't let you travel too !
Raeghan and Riley's swi were both 6 hours away one way, not worth the trip. Raeghan's we weren't allowed to go too, Riley's I could have gone but would have had to stay the night and pay for hotel for us and for the guide, and it was going to cost $200 plus. Rachael's I did go too, it was a 2 hour day trip, they treated us nice, took us to eat, but it wasn't worth the watching her go through all the grief and sadness when we left. She grieved the most, and it was so hard on her.
Just glad you don't have to wait !
We miss you here in rainy Arkansas !
