Signed, Sealed & Delivered

I had hoped that I would've gotten a photo with the UPS man but he put the envelope between the storm door and the front door and was gone in a flash. He was literally back in his truck before I could get the front door open. And I was watching him the whole time!! Man was he fast!

So Lane took the photo of me holding the envelope instead. It showed up on our door at 3:30 and I was back at F.e.d.E.x/K.i.n.k.o.s at 5 pm with our signed LOA/SCL (depending on who you talk to). And for those who aren't familiar with the lingo it's the agreement that we send back to China agreeing to adopt the child that was identified for us. There was also a whopper of a check that we had to include to our agency. I should've remembered but when you've been waiting that long you forget these things. But it's done and it will go back to China on Monday. Unfortunately we hope we have our homestudy updated in time since our agency is talking about putting Lane in the travel group that leaves June 4th!! We also have to get re-fingerprinted since our prints expire 2 weeks before Lane leaves. UGH!! And let me say, I have not had a lot of success trying to figure out how to get in touch with the ATL U.S.C.I.S. office. So it is possible Lane will have to wait until July which wouldn't be fun since we'd rather get her home sooner but life doesn't always work out the way you expect it to.

Ordered Emi's bedding a few days ago through PBKids. The quilt is on backorder which I don't really care about because it's going on her wall as decor. The sheets have already been shipped. I'm heading out tomorrow morning to one of the neighborhood garage sales to see if I can pick up some girls 12M summer clothes. If it doesn't fit for some reason, Lane can leave it in China to be donated to the SWI or wherever they are needed.

Had a great conversation in the car this morning with Eriks. Lisa, you will love this. We had a birthday party this morning at a place called DAC Kids. Eriks has had several playdates with Briana there. This is how the conversation went.

E: Is Briana going to be at DAC Kids?
L: No because you're going there for Ben's birthday party and she doesn't know Ben.
E: I miss my girlfriend.
L: Is Briana your girlfriend?
E: YES! I haven't seen her in so long! I wish she could come.
L: Well we'll have to try and get together with her soon.

It was short because we literally live 2 minutes from the location. It would've been interesting to see where the conversation would've gone had we had more time. So glad he likes Briana so much. And he really is so good with her - very protective. Just like a big brother. Hope he is this good with Emi.

Tomorrow afternoon we are dropping Eriks with a friend of mine who's going to keep him occupied for the afternoon while Lane and I go see the King Tut exhibit here in ATL. It's not going to be around much longer and it's something he really wanted to do so my parents got him tickets to the exhibit for his birthday. It should be lots of fun!
