Sunday Review & Gifts

Eriks wears a nice shirt and a tie about once a year - Easter. He doesn't really have a need to at any other time. So I grabbed my camera and decided to do a mini photo shoot. Unfortunately my model had better things on his mind (Easter basket/candy) but I managed to get a few good ones including the above.

We drove about 2 hrs south of ATL to spend Easter with some friends. I don't like the drive but still had lots of fun. It was good to get out of the house. We had a very nice Easter dinner and laughing with other adults is always a good thing. These friends have other friends that just recently moved there as well and they have 3 kiddos total but their oldest is 3 and the middle guy is about 18 months (I think). Anyhow, the whole point of that is that Eriks does a GREAT job playing with kids that are younger than him. He's very gentle and mindful of them. Even though he has a bad habit of being a tattletail when he thinks they're doing something wrong but it really isn't. We feel really good knowing that he will be gentle with Emi as well.

The birthday boy also had a good time. The carrot cake cupcakes I made were a hit although I like my carrot cake with some nuts and this mix didn't have any. I guess when I eat another one I can sprinkle some nuts on top of the icing.

GIFTS!!!!

The tea set is from our friends Jay & Jen who live 2 hours away. I was chatting online with Jen one day who has a niece who will be 2 in Aug. Jen is a very organized, plan ahead kind of gal. She does her birthday/Christmas shopping all year long. Especially when she finds something she likes. So she was looking online and found the tea set and sent the the link via IM and said something like, "I just found C's birthday present."
I responded back saying that was really cute and had a little bit of envy because I'm so ready to start buying little girl clothes and toys but at the time I don't think we had even gotten our referral yet.
But like I said, Jen thinks ahead and bought us one. I was excited when I opened it up yesterday.

The clothes are from Lane's sister and her husband. On Sat we got 2 boxes on our doorstep. The one was addressed to Eriks and the other to Lane so we assumed it was a birthday gift for him from his sister and BIL.

WRONG!

There was a birthday card in there but the boxes were for someone else. Emi received a total of 7 dresses, 3 outfits and 1 pj romper. And if you can't tell, it's lots of PINK!

We were so not expecting all that stuff to be in those 2 boxes. I'm still in shock and very thankful. We'll see if any of it fits Emi when she gets here and if not we will have to exchange it. I'm not as concerned about the dresses because if they're a little long, they're a little long. The crops and the shirts are a different story.
I can say this, she's going to be one stylin' spicy girl!
