Year of the Rat

Happy New Year China Bloggies!!! I meant to post this yesterday but spent the better half of the day (while Eriks was in school mind you) running my butt all over kingdom come! So I'm a little late! Tomorrow night is our CNY celebration here and it should be a good one. I helped out a little in the planning (I helped pick out the menu last weekend) and I'm also donating some handmade jewelry to the silent auction. This helps our local FCC chapter pay for things during our functions throughout the year. Mostly goodies for kids. I should be able to post photos of the evening on Sunday. And why is it I can't find any of the Lunar New Year stamps? Went to the post office yesterday and they were all out. I knew they would be popular but man, I didn't think they'd be impossible to find! Hopefully I'll find them soon.

I don't know why my TiVo did not tape yesterday's episode but I watched part of today's and I must say I love this show!!!! Ni Hao Kai-Lan is awesome! She is so cute and so is her koala pal (didn't catch the name). Most of my family and friends know how much I dislike Dora the Explorer (there's just something weird about her). Kai-Lan is so much cuter!!! I hope Nick Jr. realized how much they could capitalize if they did the whole line of dolls, etc the way they do with Dora. I can guarantee you that a good chunk of my change will be invested. I can't wait to watch more and Eriks will certainly get to watch this show.

Hope everyone has a good weekend and stays warm. I know some of you out there will be in a deep freeze like my BIL & SIL in Wisconsin. Still can't believe they got about 17 inches of snow dumped on them. I'm jealous. I know all you northerners think I'm nuts. Don't forget I'm from the north - I've just spent the past 10 yrs living in the South and I'm ready for enjoyable summers again. I've been cooped up way too long during the summers so they're not much fun

Happy CNY and, oh, yeah, keep that snow.

Happy New Year! We like Kai-Lan, too. Maybe it is Dora's freaskishly large head that you don't like. ;-) Keira calls her Doh-doh.
No snow up here; just below zero (with wind chill) temps. Brrrrr. When is spring arriving?!
And btw, good luck with your chocolate-free Lent. I'm still deciding what to give up! Ha!

Happy Chinese New Year! We also love Kai-Lan. I cracked up when I read your post because I feel the same way about Dora - something weird going on with her. My husband thinks it's the way her voice always ends on a high pitch. Might be. Lets' hope Emilija can come home soon and you, Lane, Eriks and her can enjoy it together.

Love,
Jonni
