Another season started a few weeks ago and I was shocked to learn that 3 of the final 24 are from my home state of Indiana. One of the girls I really liked anyhow. She's kind of unique and different. Guess those are the type of contestants I'm drawn to. I loved Gina from last season and was so bummed when she was cut. Then of course I liked Blake and his beat-box sound.
So of course I will be rooting for Amanda, Amy and Luke. Amanda is the girl that sounds like Janis Joplin and looks like a punk rocker. I guess she also seems like the type of gal I would hang out with. Yeah, I'm a weirdo. Guess that goes back to the days in high school when I wore lots of black eyeliner and U2, Cure, Depeche Mode t-shirts. Not to mention the empire-waist dresses with bloomers underneath. I didn't look like a punk but I definitely didn't dress like the rest of crowd. I also shaved part of my hair (the underneath part). My BF from high school and my SIL both did too (they're sisters). It was great during the summer because I was so much cooler when I had my hair pulled up. My mom of course had a cow, but I told her, "It's only hair. It will grow back!" Of course I wouldn't do that now, but it was fun when I was a rebel teenager.
Anyhow, I can't wait for next week when I can start voting! Have a good weekend!

I hope to be able to think like that when my kids dye their hair purple or something....."breathe Janet....it's only their hair. There are no piercings.....breathe....." LOL!
I like Amanda too! I can't wait for Idol to get started!
