Secret Pal Gift

This was the first month that I started participating in a DTC/LID December 2006 Secret Pal swap. I was a little nervous that my secret pal had forgotten about me but she came through today.

I saw the UPS man pull up and thought to myself, "I haven't ordered anything why is he here?" He handed me the box and I saw that both the return address and delivery address were mine and on the bottom was written From your Secret Pal. I was excited. I waited until Eriks woke up to have him help me open it up. Little kids live for opening up things.

I loved everything I got, especially the book, Every Year On Your Birthday by Rose Lewis. This is her new book that was just published this month so I am very excited to have it. I still don't have the book I Love You Like Crazy Cakes so that's on my list next.

Of course I had to read the new book to my 3 year old reading junkie and couldn't stop crying through the whole thing. I tried so hard to choke back my tears but it just wouldn't work. Yes, I am clearly a nut job!!! Actually, I'm just so in love with a little girl whose face I haven't seen and have never met and it tears me apart to know she has to wait for such a long time to meet her forever family. Honestly, if I see anything related to Chinese kids anymore, I just become a basketcase!!! Yup, just one of those that can become an emotional wreck!

I also love the purple, green & white blanket with the little bear. And the notebook is blank sheets. I have been addicted to recipes recently and love Rachael Ray's magazine, "Everyday with Rachael Ray" and subscribe to it. When the new issue shows up I go through the old one and rip out all the recipes I like and want to use. Well, I've had them just stacking up for months so this will be a great place to mount all those recipes into.

I can't wait to see what July brings from my Secret Pal. If she reads my blog, a big Thank You again for all the wonderful gifts!!!!
