10 Years Ago Today...

Lane and I exchanged vows in a Catholic ceremony in my hometown of Indianapolis, Indiana in the church I grew up in and in the church that my own parents were married in. We purposely planned our wedding to occur in May because my parents were married in May - exactly 25 years before us. So when they celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary we will celebrate our 25th. However, I must admit, that legally we were married 9 months before that in Las Vegas. The story of why isn't important but we didn't get married because I was with child. When we decided to elope in Vegas we already had everything for our May wedding set and things were already paid for. However with me being Catholic and Lane on his way to converting to Catholicism, not having a Catholic ceremony was out of the question.

We had over 200 guests from around the world there to celebrate with us. It was a grand party that I would do over again in a heartbeat - maybe for our 15th????

We should be doing something big for our 10th, but we're not. I'm OK with that although lying on the beach in Hawaii does sound really good right about now. I'm actually hoping that our big thing for our 10th anniversary ends up being a Waiting Child from our agency's next WC list. We're hanging low tonight and going out to dinner tomorrow. However, Lane has something up his sleeve. He's been secretive all week and even came home from work at bit after 2:30pm a few days ago because as he claims, "I have an errand to run and something to take care of." He's not a very good liar. So I'll probably post tomorrow and let everyone know how it all went.

Here's a glimpse into our wedding day. I apologize that the photos aren't that great. I don't have a scanner and had to use my digital to take a picture of the professional pictures.
