I Really Needed This Today

After dealing with a complete quack of a doctor today who thought he knew better than the specialist who treats me for a few issues I have, Lane showed me this comic and I laughed. BTW, my 2 favorite comics are For Better or For Worse and Baby Blues.

I won't get into it about the doctor as I know there are good doctors out there but every so often you get one. Nonetheless, I called my specialist, talked to his nurse and she said to me, "You are NOT to EVER go back there again." The man had me really upset and made his observations based on one visit with no background information and not even bothering to call the specialist and ask if he should be concerned or if this is normal. And the specialist I see is CHIEF of medicine in his specialty. Like I'm going to take this guys word over my specialists. He just had me upset and pi$$ed off. The nurse found me a new internal medicine doc to see so I am in a better mood now.

It's hard when you get a crappy doctor. My mom had a real quack for a while who told her that she was just imagining things, then she went to a GOOD doctor and they found out she had a serious endocrine disorder! AAARRRRGGG! Made me want to strangle that guy! He's lucky we're not the suing type.....!

I understand. This is not the first crappy doctor I had. I had a fabulous OB/GYN in Mississippi (whom I will not mention for fear of being sued if someone who knows him reads my blog - doubt it, but possible) who when I was trying to get pregnant told me I was FAT and that's why I wasn't pregnant yet. Yeah, I was about 20 lbs overweight at the time, but not FAT. Yes, he told me I was FAT. I disagreed and of course 2 weeks later found out I had an extremely over-active thyroid due to something called Graves Disease. I was furious with him and never went back. Of course this is the same doctor who told a pregnant friend that she was gaining too much weight and that she should go on a diet and also stripped another friends membranes without her permission so that he could deliver her baby before he went on vacation. UGH!!! I'm sure if CJ reads my comments she'll be absolutely horrified with this OB/GYN!!!

Sorry to hear the doctor upset you so. The doctor you wrote about in your comment should loose his license. He sounds awful.

When we were just starting trying to get pregnant I mentioned it to the doctor at my early exam. He said that I had better go on Weight Watchers first and loose a little weight. At the time I was NOT that heavy, I could have lost about 20 pounds at the time. I never went back. Probably a good thing since I have gained so much weight over the last four years trying to get pregnant. I can only imagine what he would say now.

I'm glad you found a better doctor.
