There are signs everywhere!

Some of you might know exactly what I'm talking about with that line. It's from the movie Fools Rush In with Matthew Perry & Salma Hayek. It's from a scene in the movie where Matthew Perry's character is back in NYC and runs into a priest that says, "There are signs everywhere" and then there are a bunch of signs that give Matthew Perry's character reasons to go back to Las Vegas where Salma Hayek's character is. If you haven't seen the movie, I highly recommend it. It's a romantic comedy and in my personal DVD collection.

Anyhow, I had my "there are signs everywhere" moment last night!!! We are finally getting around to having Eriks 3 year pictures taken. I know, we're only about 4 months behind and he's almost 3 1/2. His favorite character at the moment is Curious George so we thought it would be really cute to get him a plush Curious George and take some of his CG books to the photographers as well. So we drove over to Target to look and they didn't have any. We did find one at We B Toys but it's not exactly what we were looking for so we'll check at Walmart today.

All the stuffed/plush character toys at Target are in the same aisle as the Cabbage Patch Kids. So as we were leaving the aisle, I decided to stop and just check out the CPK dolls. I still don't know what possessed me to do it. So I start looking at the newborn CPK dolls and I pick up one that was a really cute Asian CPK. Something of course I'm taking more notice of. Well, I nearly ended up dropping the box when I looked at the adoption certificate. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Out of the 100's of thousands of CPK dolls throughout this country and probably the world, I find an Asian CPK doll that is given the EXACT same first name as we are giving our daughter. Granted it wasn't spelled the same, it was missing the "J" since we are using the Latvian spelling for Emily. But her name was Emilia. The CKP dolls middle name is April and Emilija will have the Latvian middle name of Liga. But I also noticed the birth date. It was my mother's birthday! August 22nd. Of course you all know that I brought that doll home and is now waiting to be loved by Emilija.

Now how freaky is that??? I'm still in disbelief. An Asian CPK doll winds up in Little Rock, AR of all places at the Target I shop at with my future Chinese daughter's name!!! I've attached pictures to show you the doll and her name. That was definitely the sign I needed that my Chinese daughter is out there somewhere.

That's so cute...we managed to find a Kaylee one too!

Even a little one named Leda - which I really couldn't believe, because we never see my name anywhere!

Is that ever cool! I almost used the name Emilia, but my oldest daughter didn't like it. I would have called her Emmy. But instead, I'm using Amanda.

Yes, a sign! And I liked that movie, too!
