If you don't like what I'm going to say, stop reading NOW!!!
I pretty much avoided the TV all day Tuesday. I did not want to get caught up in O.bama mania whatsoever. I know some of my friends and blog friends voted for him but I am still dipping my toes into this new administration with EXTREME caution.
Anywho...I have to say, I absolutely HATED the dresses that Mrs. O.bama and Mrs. Bi.den wore for both the inauguration and the balls. Thanks to the internet, I got to see what they wore. Let me start with Michelle and her choices:
First, the dress she wore for her husband's inauguration was one of the least flattering pieces any woman her age could've worn. The cut was all wrong for her. And what shocked me was I saw the clothes she wore during her husband's campaign, most of which I thought were great for her. So I was so very disappointed when I saw on the internet that she was wearing something the Queen of England would wear. She has a body, she needs to show it off not look like and 85 yr old woman. And I can't believe how the media RAVED about her choice. They must have been smoking some funny cigarettes that day or snorting some damn good coke. Move outta my way, I think I'm going to hurl. Which leads me to her inauguration gown. Thanks to the mass media coverage Tuesday evening, there was no way I was going to avoid flipping on a station that wasn't showing something about the festivities. I need to preface this and say that I thought her gown was very pretty and a very suitable dress for a beach wedding, but again was totally unflattering on her. After seeing the earlier outfit of the day, I though, "OK, she's gonna have this dazzling number tonight." Again, she has a body, show it off. When I first thought about what I thought she might wear I thought - red, strapless, mermaid gown. Wrong! I posted this exact comment on a friends blog, "it hung on her like a flap of dead skin." Although I don't like her, I thought that it was such a disappointment for someone that I thought was fairly fashion forward.
Now on to Jill:
OK, the hooker boots for an inauguration? Are you kidding me??? Well, they did put a ban on prostitution within the city limits that day but Jill didn't think it applied to her. Yeah, yeah but I know some of you are laughing your a$$es off (particularly a PugMama). The boots might have been OK if they were under a dress that fell at her calf and you couldn't see how far up her leg they went. Plus she looks really uncomfortable in them. Her evening gown was better than Michelle's but still not flattering on her either. It's strangling the top half of her body. Green or purple would've been a better color on her too.
So there's my fashion review of the inauguration. Like it or don't like - I don't care!! But it felt good to heckle someone after the crummy day I've had. People took jabs at GW & Laura for 8 yrs. Now it's my turn to do it to that dude that lives in the WH and his wife.

must say, I LOVED both of M.O's outfits - ESPECIALLY the lemon-grass one. I know, I know, you hated it, but I LOVED it.
Now for J.B's get-up. Those boots...Lord have mercy, how inappropriate. Hooker boots at their best.
Well, I LIKE the hooker boots and the red coat, but the other ones I could do without.....:-)
Huh, I hated the color of Mrs. O's day look- but I would hate it on anyone- just don't like the color. I think the boots/short coat assert Mrs. B's figure/spirit. I'm not offended, and don't think they are inappropriate. Hooker boots, as modeled by J. Roberts in Pretty Woman, are thigh high, not under the knee.
Wasn't a huge fan of either evening gown, but, thought Mrs. O carried herself with grace, and she and the Prez had some nice moves from the bits I saw. That was lovely. Not just that, but they both looked really happy, and really in love, which is not important in a presidential couple, but just nice to see.
Hellllllooooooo....
She's the first lady. She can't dress like some skank going to get her groove on at the club with her cleavage hanging out. How inappropriate would that be? I'm sure she's coached on the proper amount of skin she's allowed to bare. But with that said... I didn't care for the evening gown at all.
But Jill's boots are fine. Her little skinny ass was cold. And I liked her red dress.
C'mon, look in a mirror before you pick on other women's appearances, girl!
Dear Anonymous,
I don't ever expect to be a First Lady nor do I want that position. I didn't pick on them personally - I picked on the horrible clothes that both of them picked for such a monumental occasion. Oh and how about the media saying, "She bought her gloves & the girls coats at J. Crew" I was in J. Crew a few weeks ago and a thin tank top alone cost $44!!! I can only imagine how much her girls coats cost if a tank top cost $44.
And where did I ever say I was better than them??? If I had a stylist at my beck and call like these women do then I sure as hell would look much different than I do now. I never said I had a great wardrobe, nor do I ever expect to have one.
If you think I should look in the mirror, I'm sure you need to just as much as I do.
