Home

I'm going to try and make this a quick post. I apologize that it's taken me almost 5 days to post these photos but our focus is on Emi - bonding with her and taking care of her.

Lane and Mom made it just fine. It took FOR-EVER to get through Immigrations and Customs.
Emi's 1st night was pretty daggone rough because her schedule was so off. She was still on China time. It's gotten much better and she is starting to sleep part of the night in her crib. We've been doing some co-sleeping as well to let her know that we are here for her when she needs us.

She wasn't really sure what to think of Eriks and me at first. Now she's starting to dig us. From time to time she still gets very upset when Lane leaves the room. He is her safe haven. And I'm totally cool with that. When she is ready she will trust me completely. I'm just happy to have what she has given me thus far.

She is a very smart and happy little girl. She loves to mimick and she's much more willing to give smiles and laugh a really good belly laugh. She likes the dogs and Sydney, our male lab is the one who has taken up the protector and guardian role. About 90% of the time, wherever she is, he is. He even sleeps on her floor in her room at night. Gabby, our chocolate girl is just oblivious to Emi for the most part. Although she is very tolerant when Emi grabs her paws or bangs on her side when she's sleeping.

I'm hoping tomorrow I'll be able to post what few pictures I've taken since she's been home. I've been too busy being with her to worry about taking photos. Hope you understand that. But there are some.

Enjoy the photos at the airport!

Thank you for sharing!!! I can see the love and joy radiating from your face!

Time. . .it all just takes time. Once Lane goes back to work, Emi will have to rely on you to provide everything. That will help out with the bonding and attachment. BTDT!

So happy for your family. Hope one day, we'll get to see you again.

Blessings from our family to yours

I am so excited and can't wait to see Emilija in person! Just let me know when I can come. I was hoping to get on the computer conference call with you, but ever since our computer went on the fritz, I haven't been able to get a video picture (it's just a black screen). Call when it's a good time to talk. I don't want to call when it's inconvenient for you. I was jealous when Mom said Lane called from China! I have been watching the blog, and have enjoyed reading all the posts and especially seeing all the pics. I transferred all the pics to my iPhoto. I love you all!

I am so behind on blogging/following blogs/etc....but I had to drop by to say congratulations! Emi is beautiful and looks so happy, just like her mom. I hope things are continuing to go well. What an exciting, fabulous time!
Take care. And someday when I get my work-life balance under control, I'll be better about staying in touch!
