Yes, I realize there's an absence of photos here. Camera battery finally died today while they were at the Temple.of.Six.Banyans. So on the agenda tomorrow is to either find a battery/battery charger or just buy a new camera which we will just give to my parents since theirs bit the dust early in the trip as well.
Note to self: DO NOT FORGET TO PACK THE BATTERY CHARGER!!!
As you can tell, I'm really ticked at myself for not double checking to make sure Lane had it. I asked him if he had it and he said yes. However, due to miscommunication, he thought I was asking about the video camera and not the DSLR. May have mentioned something about this in one of my 1st posts about their trip. So just a fair warning, there may not be anymore photos of the trip due to the camera issue to post here. I promise that if they get it resolved either with our current camera or a new one, I will post photos. If a new camera is required then it might have to wait until they return home.
Anyhow...
Today they went to the temple mentioned above. Only 4 of the 19 families in our travel group actually participated in the blessing of the babies. This made me a little sad that it was that few. I really can't express why since I'm having a hard time finding my words. I just think it's pretty awesome that my daughter is receiving a blessing to have a good and prosperous life far away from her homeland.
Afterward, our guide took the group to a jade market that just sold jewelry. Lane bought Emi and me matching pendants. Tomorrow he will look for a cross that we will give Emi for either her First Communion or Confirmation. I'm leaning toward First Communion that way she can wear it for a long time.
They spent the rest of the day around the hotel. They took Emi back for a nap and then just decided they did not want to head to Shamian Island.
Tomorrow Lane will fill out Emi's visa paperwork and then they will head back to Shamian Island with the group. There are quite a few children in our travel group who are over the age of 2 and are required to have the TB test done. So those families who have children over 2 will get the results and if need be will have X-rays done. Luckily, Emi is under 2 and will not have to have this done.
Hope everyone had a Happy 4th of July!!

Glad to hear all is going well. That stinks about the battery charger and sounds like something I would do (lol). So sad that so few families participated in the bessing. We had Sofia blessed as well. Not too much longer and baby girl will be home. Hope you and Eriks had a wonderful holiday.
I am using John's Blackberry on the way home from Long Island, so sorry if there are typos.
Hugs,
Jonni
Always, always... before clothes/undies/bras etc go into the bag... the camera/charger goes in first :) I have my 2 cameras ready to go and I don't even have the referral yet :)
