So So Sad

I've returned. Not super happy about it but that's life. I was having too much fun.
  • The mosquitoes were awful this year. I usually come home without a single bite. This time I was eaten ALIVE!! And I can't stop itching. I hope it stops soon. I'm trying not to itch but it's so hard!
  • Smokers are not a good influence on my son. My siblings both smoke and so does my brother's girlfriend, Jenny. This past weekend Eriks turns to either Lane or my parents and says, "When I'm big enough, I'm going to smoke just like Jenny." Not if I have anything to say about it.
  • What is it about dogs and kennels. When we dropped off Syd and Gabby they couldn't be happier. Syd ran straight to the back without so much as a goodbye. We picked them up yesterday and they were very happy to see us. We brought them home and have since been passed out on the floor. They move to go eat and to go outside. That's it. It's like they have a huge party in the kennel and then need a 3 day recoup minimum.
  • The house is so quiet. Eriks is with my parents for the next week. He'll be home next Tuesday or so. He was sad when we left yesterday but he went swimming twice and is having himself a good time. Even though last night on the phone he was whining. I think it's called he's learning how to guilt trip his parents.
  • So much to do. Between school work and getting the house ready for sale...enough said.
  • Still in shock that we're moving to GA. I'm ready to get out of here, but I'm also not. As much as I don't enjoy living here mostly because of the heat (it's going to be 102 today) and the whole country bumpkin thing... There are things I love - ACH, our church and where Eriks & Lane do TaeKwonDo.
  • I'm also looking forward to a trip back to CA with Lane. He has 10 days of training to do in Long Beach. Eriks and I are tagging along. Disney*land, Elephant Bar, In*n*Out Burger...I miss CA but I could never afford to live there. Everything is so darn expensive. I'm trying to figure out what else we can do while we're there and Lane is doing training.
  • The Olympics start this week. Yippie! OK, I know there's been tons of controversy swirling because of China playing host. What can I say, I'm a sports fiend!! Gymnastics, swimming, diving, esp. I was so excited that preseason football started this past Sunday.
OK. Time to get back to reality. I have a ton of laundry to do from last week. It smells like smoke and Deep Woods O*ff. And then there's that paper to write...

Enjoy your quiet time!

I am looking so forward to the Olympics too!

Sorry you are going to miss the things you do where you live - but I promise you will like lots of things in GA too!

Kids say the craziest things! I'm sure he will change his mind at least ten times in the next, oh, five minutes. ;)

Enjoy your quiet time. Get lots done.

Why are we moms so sick?! We can't wait to have the house to ourselves, but then miss the kids the whole time!!!

The smoking thing would tick me off! My BIL smokes, but he is the first one to tell the kids that it's a really bad thing to do and they should never do it. He always leaves the building to smoke, even in -10 degrees!

As for the "bite of the blood suckers", believe it or not but rub solid anti-perspirant (sp?) on the bites. I am so serious! It really truely works!!! It's the aluminium in it. Weird, but true!!! Works great on the kids and adults. Who knew?!
