I am so not happy right now. Although I am excited about our move, I'm just not ready to do it in October. I just got an e-mail from Lane saying his report date is sometime in October. I was hoping to wait until the middle of December after the last day of school for the semester. Plus I've already signed up to bring in snacks for the pre-K's Halloween party. It's just not fair to rip a child out of school after 2 months. Especially since we're on a waiting list for a school in Atlanta already.
Eriks has already said he doesn't want to leave AR. He likes his friends, he loves karate and I know he's not going to want to leave school either.
I'm pretty dang upset right now and told Lane he really needs to get that changed to at least the end of November. We're still getting the house ready for the market (should be ready by the end of the week) and I've got enough other stuff on my plate to deal with moving in 2 months!!! Can we say hair ripping going on here??
Eriks will be home late this afternoon from his vacation in Indy without us. When I talked to him a few days ago he didn't really seem to want to come home. He didn't want to talk to me on the phone either. He had more important things to do. I'm sure he'll be happy to be back because he'll get to go back to karate. Right now nothing is more important than that!

Yikes! That is pretty quick! I agree - you definitely need some time to prepare. I hope Lane can work something out to give you more time!

Eeks! Is there any way you can stay till the end of the semester then join Lane in Georgia? Well, anyways, talk about short notice.
Sorry to hear you're getting messed around on your move. I hope something can be worked out so Eriks especially can come to terms with leaving. If you do go before his Halloween party, perhaps the teacher will let him have a goodbye party instead?
