What a Night

Holy crap is all I can think of to start this post.

• I never thought that I would be ripping my 4 yr old son from his bed at 10:20 at night to take shelter during a tornado warning.
• I never thought we could fit 2 adults, a child, 2 Labrador Retrievers and a very petrified cat into Lane's walk-in closet.
• I never thought that I would here the weatherman on the TV through the closet door say, "If you live in the vicinity of Campground Road and Highway 89, seek shelter immediately."
• I never thought that my heart would beat out of my chest when the lights went out and I started to fear for my life.
• If there are so many tornadoes in the South, why don't they build houses with basements?
• We are OKAY!
• There's a ton of damage though in the city where we live.
• Actually saw someone's trampoline wrapped around a telephone pole. That made last night very real.
• I was out last night playing a game with a group of gals called Bunco. I was at the hosts house about 1 hr before the tornado hit or passed over her subdivision. I don't think it hit but I know the news said that her neighborhood got a lot of damage. Had it happened just an hour earlier, I would've been there. HOLY SH*T!!!!
• Saw a car dealership in our small suburban town with part of a building that collapsed on cars that just ended up smashed. A few looked like someone had just folded them in half.
  

Bullets set 2, somewhat happier news:

• Eriks still loves karate and Lane's karate instructors are kicking his a$$ and making him work hard.
• I'm so sick of this up & down weather. One day it's 75, the next day it's 53. I'm ready for normal Spring temps.
• My thyroid is screwed up. I'm on thyroid replacement hormones and I'm not taking enough. That would explain my wanting to sleep all the time, the weight gain, more of my hair falling out. Not that I'm losing clumps of hair or anything, but you know when you're in the shower rinsing out the shampoo and you run your fingers through your hair and your fingers pull loose hairs out? Well I have a lot more loose hairs than I used to. Doctor bumped up my thyroid replacement mends. Hopefully I'll get the weight off quickly with the addition of more meds.
  
• I know this is kind of stupid but it's got me saying "Why?" Occasionally I look for interesting blogs to read on topics that interest me. There are some that I've looked at that are the most boring uninteresting blogs I've ever seen. There are a few that they might as well write, "Woke up today. Took a pee. Got coffee. Took a shower. Went to work. Came home from work. Ate dinner." You get the drift. I know my posts aren't always the most interesting. However, if I don't have anything really to say, I'm quiet. As some of you have noticed I'm a little quieter than I used to be as I don't have time to blog because of school & other commitments. Those in my blog roll are there because you guys have some good stuff to say and great pictures of your kiddos!
  
• Other than that...I'm hoping to have a calmer more relaxing weekend than what I had to deal with last night.
