It's Been Awhile

There really hasn't been much to say so I haven't been posting. Pretty much the same 'ol same 'ol around here. Mother nature can't decide if it's spring or not. One day it will be 75 degrees and the next it will be 52. Right now it's in the 40's with highs only in mid 50's. However tomorrow it's supposed to be back in the low 70's. This has been the craziest weather pattern since we moved here. We've never had these kinds of ups and downs during Spring here. The way it normally works is that it's cold for a week, then all of a sudden it hits the 70's and stays there until May when summer temps start kicking in.

So as I stated in one of my last posts that Eriks and Lane started tae kwan do. Both of them really enjoy it and I love watching Eriks during class. He's really good at it, but then again he picks up everything he does easily - soccer, basketball, football, etc...

We after his first class with a uniform (I hadn't sewn any of the patches on yet, but they are there now) I decided to take his photo to share with everyone. Our parents, family and friends read our blog so I figured rather than sending out a mass email, I'll post the photo here. He was so proud of himself and is pestering us for the facemask, punchers and life vest (sparing equipment). He'll only need that stuff if he's in the black belt club so we'll probably move him up eventually. We'd like him to learn more of the basics and set goals before we move him up.

He so looks like the Karate K*id in his uniform. It made me think of the movie immediately when his instructor put his bandana on his head.

Other than that, not much going on in our little world. March 31st was the last day for assignment notices for the summer and we're not going anywhere yet. We were hoping to go to Atlanta this summer but it ain't happening. The job may still be there this fall. Lane did get an email this morning that he's on the fall moving list. So we'll leave her this fall, but where we'll go we have no idea. I'm secretly hoping the job is still there this fall, but if not it's our best guess where we'll go and I hate not knowing or having to wonder where the military is going to move us. I can't wait for all this moving to be over and done with and to live somewhere for a long time.

The only good that has come out of this is that we'll be able to do the things to the house that we want to do. We want to extend our little 12x12 square of concrete that they call a "patio". I want to do some more landscaping in the backyard. We've only got a maple tree out there right now. After the patio has been extended we want to put flower beds around it with stuff from my parents' house as they are quite the gardeners/landscapers and have lots of perennials that come back year after year. Plus we might just put another tree out back too. With the housing market the way it is right now, we need to do everything we can to this house without spending a lot of money so we can sell it this fall.

I'll try and catch up on blogs. I've been bad about reading everyone's. Sorry, it's been rough since I've got so much going on now with soccer, tae kwan do, yoga, and other little things here and there. If you noticed, I didn't even have time to take part in the Divine Ms M's "3 Word Sunday". I was so busy I forgot until Monday morning.
