Anyhow. On to the ramblings.
- After 5 1/2 yrs my flat iron finally crapped out on me. I turned it on this morning and it just wouldn't heat. I really want a C.HI but I'm not ready to spend $120 on a flat iron. I did spend $60. In a few years I might get the C.HI but I probably won't be straightening my hair much this summer with the humidity. It just doesn't work. I'm cursing my father and my mom's dad. They both have curly hair and passed it on to my sister and I. So here's the flat iron before it went in the trash.

- Speaking of hair. I got mine done today. I was supposed to have it done next Tuesday but I couldn't stand it anymore so a few days ago I called to see if my hair dresser had an opening today. She did. So my dark roots are gone and so are the brassy blonde highlights. They'll pop out as the color fades. My hair will suck up the blonde but it takes longer for it to take the reddish brown. Oh well. So this is what it looks like now. She straightened it pretty flat. More than I usually straighten it. I like it to have some body.
- On a side note I'm starting to lose my double chin. That's really making me happy. Hopefully I'll continue losing the weight too!

- Another thing I did for myself was this:

- It's time for sandals and flip-flops and during the winter because I refuse to wear open-toed shoes when it's cold, I do nothing with my toes. We leave for sunny FL in 12 days and I really didn't see any other time to get them done than today. So before my haircut, I went over to the nail place and had my feet pampered. George is showing off his white paw. He wanted to show off his cute tootsies too! Silly kitty!
- Lane's sister, Marla and her husband Corey are on their way from Dallas to spend the weekend with us. Lane's got a birthday tomorrow. And not just any birthday, but a MILESTONE birthday - the big 4-0!!!! He's learning to accept it.
- Speaking of birthdays...Happy Birthday to my blogging buddy Colleen who is 2 days older than Lane. She turned the big 4-0 yesterday. She is mommy to one of the prettiest little China girls I've seen.
- Eriks and I have been grooving to Jimm.y Buffett today. We've got some windows in the house open and nothing goes better with warm weather than some One Par.ticular Harbor and Margaritt.aville. One of these days I'll have to get him on video singing Buffett.

Great hair and toes! Have a great time this weekend. Happy birthday, Lane!
Looks like you had some nice pampering time. Only 12 days to Florida..ahhh.. wish I could go to Florida too. :0) I am pretty excited about going to NC in a week though. I need a little warmth and sunshine. Hopefully it won't rain the whole time we are there.
Good for you having some 'pamper yourself' time.
Happy birthday celebrating and stay safe in the stormy weather.
I too mourned the passing of my hair straightners a while back. It was like the loss of a good and loyal friend. However, because I am very fickle, the purchase of a new, shiny set soon made me forget my sadness!
Glad the storms weren't so bad after all.
