Things You Can Learn By Listening to XM Radio, State Fair & My Dad

I'll start with my dad since this has been on my mind for awhile. My dad does NOT have cancer. YEAH!!!! This was a huge relief. I'm sure they will keep an eye on him though and might have to go through future testing.

So I learned a lot listening to XM this weekend going from here to there this weekend.

  • You can hear Metallica being played on an XM country station.
  • There is a group out there called The Hoosiers (being from Indy had no clue).
  • They still play the Macarena :(

So I'm sure I will continue to hear interesting things being played on XM as I continue to drive all over kingdom come.

And lastly, I was supposed to do this last week but well, I just got busy. Trying to keep my a$$ in line with school since it is an independent study program. So without further ado, here are a few photos of Eriks at the Texas State Fair. Notice I'm not in any of them. I hate my weight and hate being in pictures. Guess that should be motivation to lose it.

We had a blast that day even though it was hotter than h-e-l-l in a handbasket. I hate the Southern heat. It should never be this hot in October. Anyhow the first 2 are of Eriks participating in something called Little Hands on the Farm. It kind of teaches them what it's like to live on a farm. Feed the chickens to produce eggs, water the trees for fruit, milk the cows for milk, plant seeds for veggies, sheer the sheep for wool, etc... They did not have stations that showed slaughtering of the cow, pig or chicken. But it was funny when you saw the real livestock how many parents did say, "That's where your hamburger comes from."

He loved riding the tractor but had a bit of a hard time pedaling. And luckily he did get off without throwing a tantrum.

And here is the most famous part of the state fair, Big Tex. He's been around for 55 yrs. He's a Dallas landmark.

Life has been OK and I'm hanging in there. My BF from HS emailed me today to say that her ultrasound says that she's having a girl. I am so excited for her. This gives me the opportunity to buy little girlie things for her. And my friend J is really not a girlie girl. She's an outdoorsy nature lover. I'm going to make sure this little girl gets LOTS of pink!!!

I am so happy that your dad is cancer free. Do they have any idea what the growth is? Just something annoying?

Hey, and who says I am not a girlie girl. I love flowers. I like pink. I may not wear makeup, but I do dance and I love to wear skirts even if it is in the middle of the forest. So there ;).

BTW, I like the pictures of Eriks at the fair. He looks like he was having a ball.

What wonderful news to hear about your father...YAY!!! I am so happy for you and your family. I love the pictures of Eriks, what a little cutie-patootie. Isn't satellit radio the best? I have Sirius and LOVE it so much.

Hugs,
