Such is the life - *UPDATED*

I couldn't think of a better title for my post. So Lane comes home from work yesterday and the conversation goes like this:

Lane, "I've been asked to go TDY (military term for Temporary Duty, aka. "business trip" in civilian terms) at the end of October into early November."

Liene, "Do I even want to know where?"

Lane, "Probably not."

Liene, "So where did they ask you to go."

Lane, "Oslo, Norway."

Liene, "Why?"

Lane, "Because Lockheed needs some active duty personnel to go sell the new C-130J's to the Norwegian Air Force. And they need a pilot who is dealing with training and helps revise and write the written manuals to explain just how this airplane works and how it's beneficial to the Norwegian Air Force."

So not fair. I still am not allowed to travel out of the country because of my arrhythmia issues. I'd love to go. I've never been to Norway and would love to add that to my foreign places visited. So my mom will come help me with Eriks for the 7-10 days that Lane will be having himself a paid vacation in Norway. All I've got to say is that he better bring me some nice gifts. I need to see what Norway is known for.

It's been raining buckets here today but it's been much needed rain as we haven't seen a drop most of the summer and we're supposed to have rain all week. My grass and flowers are happy.

On a sadder note, Lane was cleaning our fish tank last night and when he was refilling the water in the tank he added water that was too warm and our fish suffocated and died. I was not happy with him. He said he was just trying to keep the water temperature the same as it was in the tank. I told him he always has to add cooler water. The fish will adjust to the temperature. So now we have to clean out the tank and start a new. I'm still very upset because I was so happy that we had kept carnival fish alive for 4 months. They were happy. Goodbye Bert & Ernie.

Last blurb of the day, the jewelry blog is up and running. I have posted 25 pieces/sets with prices. I have decided I will ship to Canada and only will take PayPal and money orders as payment that way I don't have to wait for payment to clear and can ship immediately. Share my jewelry blog with your friends and family.

*************************UPDATE**************************************

Lane found out the Norwegian AF has a few of the new J's so he's not going for the original reason stated. He's needed to go help out with some sort of conversion training. I don't know details. I also got an email from someone who works for Norwegian AF saying they found my blog and will be meeting with Lane on his TDY as he does the C-130 Staneval (another military term) for the Norwegian AF. Lane has asked me not to talk in detail about his work stuff because anyone can read my blog. Not necessarily that it's a bad thing since I don't discuss a lot of things about his job at all on this blog. Just envious about a trip to Europe. But he's right, I don't know who reads my blog and should be careful about what I say. But honestly I never thought anyone from Norway would read my blog.

So sorry about Bert & Ernie. My cats would love to bid them adieu.

Wow.. I can't believe you can't even leave the country due to your arrhythmia. (mine is not that bad) I too hope to go to Norway next year. Our foreign exchange student we had for a year lives in Molde. Her pictures of Norway are absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!

Sorry to hear about your fish. Also about not getting to go to Norway. That is very sad to me for you too.
