I've been quiet because I haven't been around. I've been in the hospital for the past 2 days. I have a dirty little secret that I don't often share because it's honestly not that big of a deal. I have an underlying heart condition that I was born with. Every now and then it sends me into an irregular heart rate which every once in awhile puts me in he hospital. Well in 2 weeks they are hoping to fix the problem so that it doesn't go into irregular beats and functions normally. Luckily this is only the 3rd irregular heart rate episode that I've had this year and the first one that I've been hospitalized for. The doctor's are very hopeful that it will work out the way it's supposed to. So I'll be in the hospital for at most 2 days and hopefully will come out not having any more irregular heart rates!!!!
So now you know. I've had several people/families who are also adopting from China if the China program is OK with my heart condition. Well they had to approve me before I applied and I'm already a parent to one child and in no way does it prevent me from being a good parent or parenting to the best of my abilities. Just a few times a year it keeps me from doing what I need to do but isn't that about the same as parents who get really sick with the flu and have a hard time taking care of their kids and the other parent has to take charge until the sick one gets better.
My cardiologist sent pages and pages of notes and facts saying that my heart condition will not kill me. That I have a normal life expectancy and should live well into my 70's or later. That is unless something else happens like a car accident, etc. But aren't we all at risk for that? Life has no guarantees so I just take life one day at a time and try to live it as if it were my last. That's about all we can do.

I'm sorry you've had to stay in the hospital, but glad you'll be okay. And trust me, i'm the last person to think that you shouldn't be adopting!!!! And I agree, live life to the fullest!
