This is just an update from yesterday and some info I've been digging up.
***************************UPDATE*********************************
Finally got the call around 5 pm and due to the fact that our agency participates in the WC program, the CCAA frowns on the idea of us switching to the SN program. I guess in general the CCAA frowns on the SN program because in the past they've had a lot of problems with families requesting SN children, receiving referrals and then saying, "no" to the referral they receive. So I have to say I kind of don't blame the CCAA. The good news is that our agency said that many of the smaller agencies that requested WC have not placed a single child and will no longer be receiving WC files. Our agency used to receive about 30 at a time and with an interest in the WC program they've received 2/3rds of that this year - only 20 children. So they're hoping to be back up to receiving 30 kids at a time. And there's always hope that our agency is able to participate in the pilot program concerning SN children. In the newsletter for this month they said they are working on it, so hope is not lost yet. I'm just at the point where my heart is telling me I need another child in my family NOW!!! Not 2 yrs or more from now.
And the news of only 4 days worth of LID's for this months referrals was a true blow. I was extremely sad when I saw that. I know the CCAA is doing what they can but I found out it only costs $150 US dollars to do the paperwork for a child in an orphanage so they can be adoptable. Heck, I'm willing to send $300 now to have 2 children have their paperwork done. Could you imagine how many children could be made available if every family wanting to adopt from China handed their agency $150 to have the paperwork done for a child needing a home. Everyone is saying the reason that things are so slow is because there aren't enough paper ready children. Heck, I'd even pay money for the orphanages to hire someone to help make the children paper ready so they can get these children to their homes faster.
Anyone care to join me :)

I (and my mom too) would both certainly pay $150 to get our child paper ready and on their way home. Heck, I'd pay it just for the sake of getting another child from Reese's province especially paper ready, even if we weren't the ones to adopt the child.
What agency are you with? Because Dillon has an absolutely precious 2 year old girl with port wine stain (what Reese has). I have a soft spot for birthmark babies. : )

I'll join you FOR SURE!!!!
I think we all would...if only that would solve it!
This wait gets SO hard sometimes.
