I'm Tired and I Got Tagged

I'm exhausted and again, not feeling good. Yippie for me! My head is pounding and I'm straining my voice to talk because I woke up this morning and couldn't. I can feel the tension in my vocal cords as I talk so I'll probably lose it completely tomorrow or the next day. Oh well, not that I wouldn't mind giving people the silent treatment anyhow (grin). I'd actually relish the thought of not having to talk to anyone.

Anyhow, I have been tagged by Bryn for this book thing. Bryn is a blogger I came upon who is a China adoptive parent who happens to be an Indy girl herself. I hope that I can meet her this summer when I head home.

These are the rules:

1. Pick up the nearest book of at least 123 pages.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the 5th sentence.
4. Post the next 3 sentences.
5. Tag 5 more people.

This by no means is the most exciting book. Unfortunately the fiction book I am reading is in the other room. But I'm sitting here working on school stuff. Super Fun!

So here's sentences 6, 7, and 8:

"On the one hand, my findings underscore what political historians have been saying for years. Partisanship was indeed a consuming passion and pastime for antebellum Americans. On the other hand, the Virginian evidence calls into question a common assumption in the historiography of antebellum politics: Participation in campaign activities was a highly significant form of political expression for men, but not for women..."

There you have it. I didn't say it was going to be interesting. Well it sort of is, but it doesn't make you want to read the book. At least not for sh*ts and grins.

Hmmm...I'm trying to decide who to tag so I will tag...Mara, Janet, Robin, Special K and PIPO. Not sure if they'll participate but what the heck.

Have a good Monday!!!

I'll have mine posted by this afternoon. Funny thing is.. the closest "book" to me is a recipe book. Should be interesting.
