I know, I'm completely shocking many people by posting 2 days in a row. But based on what I read this morning at Y@hoo, I was really happy.
As many of you know I'm still going crazy waiting to find out where we're moving to for our final assignment. I think I'm even more anxious for Lane to retire so I can move home. I miss my family and my friends, I miss pleasant summer temperatures. Moving every 3 years got old after we had Eriks. Before we were parents it didn't bother me so much because it was so easy for me to travel to Indian.a to see my family at my leisure. Not as easy when you have a kid in tow. It will be less easy come this fall when he's in school.
So after waking up this morning I got online to read the news. I always love some of the unique stories I can read on the Y@hoo homepage. They feature a lot of the headlines like, "Best Place to Buy a Home," and "Worst Commutes," etc...
Today's headline along those lines was America's Best Places to Raise a Family. The findings for these types of stories is done by For.bes Mag.azine. Well after clicking the story I look at the photo and see that it's the Indiana.polis skyline (see photo below).

So of course I must read the article now and find out why they're showing a photo of the Indy skyline. BTW, you'll find when you read the story that they are doing this survey via county not city. Well as you can guess, Hamilton County, where my parents live now, where I spent the last 3 yrs of high school and where we intend to move to when AF life commences is #1 on the list. The city of our choice is actually Carmel (not Noblesville as listed in the article) because that's also where my parents live. It has changed so much in the 12 yrs that I've been gone. Way more shopping, way more restaurants, way more cool stuff to do. And it's still growing. When my parents decided to move us up there for better schools, lower crime...the city only had a population of 25,000. It has now gone up to 62,000 and growing. Yeah the police department is so bored because there is so little crime that they send 3 patrol cars for a routine traffic stop. They also patrol the neighborhoods and harass teenagers (speaking from personal experience), but that's a minor thing compared to everything else the area has to offer.
I can't wait until I'm "BACK HOME AGAIN IN INDIANA!!" (hearing the Jim Nab.ors version from the Indy 500 in my head)

I have never been to Indiana... though one place I would like to go - one day... I want to go to Fairmount... where James Dean is from... sorry but been a big fan since I was 12 years old...
Woohoo...just one state to the left of me on the map!
Back home in Indiana. Personally I like Indy best. Just my opinion. I always got into way to much trouble up north. Nasty , mean coppers.
Can't wait to have you as neighbors! :-)
