Lots of Photos!!

Well there ya go!! Photos of the cutie!! I had hoped that I could've posted these while someone was taking her usual 2 hr nap but someone decided that she only needed a 20 minute nap and isn't in the greatest of moods right now because of it. But she is sitting next to me here fairly content. Occasionally she reaches over and tries to push buttons and thinks it's funny as all get out for me to move her hand away.

We're all adjusting as best as we can. Her sleep patterns are hit or miss. Last night her sleep was very unsettled. She had been sleeping well for at least 2 or 3 days prior to that. Hopefully tonight she'll sleep through till morning.

Emi also has one heck of an appetite. You'd think she was a linebacker on a football team the way she puts it away. And as of right now there is nothing that she won't eat. She especially loves yogurt and Krispy.Kreme donuts. Lane shared one with her last week at breakfast. I had one about an hour later and she saw it in my hand, gave the biggest, happiest grin you've seen and then proceeded to come walking as fast as her little feet would move her to me in hopes that mommy would share. I did. You can't eat a donut in front of her without sharing. I wish I would've had a video camera to capture her reaction to seeing the donut. I was laughing harder than I've laughed in awhile.

Emi loves her feet. She puts them up on everything. The dinner table, her crib...other furniture. We've actually nicknamed her circenis (which in Latvian is cricket). She loves rubbing her feet together and she does it even more so when she's angry or not happy with the situation. It's funny that she has such an interesting quirk.

I am very frustrated with medical professionals here in Atlanta. We were referred to an ENT and took Emi to see him yesterday. Unfortunately that was a waste of time because he decided that he really couldn't help her and she needed to go somewhere else. Her pediatrician has ordered 17 different blood tests that will require at least another 2, most likely 3 sticks to get all the blood since she is so small and there's only so much blood they can take from her at a time. I don't mind doing them over the course of 4-6 months but if you only could've heard her screaming from the 1st time yesterday you'd understand why we think that that many tests are ridiculous. We need to tell the pediatrician to decide what absolutely needs to be done now and what can wait a few months because we are NOT going to the lab once a week for the next 3 weeks to torture her. It's bad enough she's going to have to go through getting new shots all over again. And even with shots, we're not going to race through them. Eriks never got his shots on schedule and Emi won't either. If the pediatrician doesn't like it, too bad. Luckily though, Lane is getting her in with the right ENT team and hopefully she'll have her 1st appointment within the next week. This is the 1st time I've ever lived somewhere where it seems like no matter what medical office you call, no one knows how to do their job and it's a constant run around to get anything accomplished!! Oh, and no one knows how to answer a phone either. They all have these stupid voice messaging services where you leave your name & number and they'll call you back when they get around to it and that could take days!

Lane's parents are coming to visit this weekend and meeting their granddaughter for the 1st time. Thankfully for webcams, they've seen her a few times and she's made them laugh. But she must realize that my family is the crazier family because when chatting with my parents and siblings via webcam, she just gets insane herself. Doing really silly things like throwing herself backwards on the carpet and laughing. I think it's been a long time since I've seen my family laugh that hard.

Well, hopefully I'll have more photos to post in a few days. I'm just enjoying my baby girl too much to bother taking photos of her. Sorry gang!

Thanks for the pictures! They seem to capture her inner happiness. :-) As for the doctor. . .you could always plan on making a trip back here, so she could see someone at Children's. :-D Not only would she get excellent medical care, all of us here, would get to meet her. . . Just a suggestion.

Yay! Love the pics!! She is such sweetheart - oh my gosh! I can't wait to meet her next week!

Sorry about all the medical junk you are going through right now. Luckily Briana only had to give blood once when she first got home. But then she did get 5 shots at one time the first visit to the ped. Ugh.

Hope her sleep gets back on track. I'm sure it will soon!

She is ADORABLE!! Good luck with the Dr Apt. And I agree with you I hate all those voice mail messages, where are the people to answer the phone.

It's so good to see her at home with y'all! Glad to hear she's settling in, but I'm sorry for all of the medical stuff you are going through right now. That is never fun.

Now all we can do is hope and pray that the doughnut shop stays in business - we need to keep those chubby cheeks smiling!
